What happens after a long day at a year-end meeting or Christmas party? Some retire to their rooms or offices, others explore the city - and if things go well, they meet up outside the office or on the company or hotel grounds. But wait: You'd better make sure your group stays together! The "Christmas Challenge" takes advantage of the existing backdrop. With creative, exciting tasks, the sense of community that has developed over the course of the day is maintained.

The concept

Getting to know each other better, spontaneously and creatively solving Christmas tasks together, improvising and laughing heartily: The Christmas event “Christmas Challenge” is perfect as a program item for a Christmas party, after an end-of-year meeting or the like. In the Christmas Challenge, participants use your office building, booked location or hotel as a backdrop.

In small teams of four to five colleagues, everyone sets out to find portraits with different Christmas symbols and solve several tasks, all with a Christmas theme. All teams are given a tablet with which they take photos, shoot videos or solve tricky puzzles. With each task solved, they collect points that clear the way to the next challenge – similar to an exit game. Time is running out, and because the teams are competing against each other, competitive zeal arises.

The idea behind it: Use the energy created during the Christmas party or year-end meeting! You’re probably familiar with this: the atmosphere is often tough at first, but gradually good conversations and a sense of togetherness emerge. Why should you let that fizzle out?

Laughing muscle soreness

At the end of the Christmas Challenge, all participants meet in a room or over a Christmas meal. Here there is an award ceremony for the team that has collected the most points. But before that, the colleagues look together at the funny photos and videos that were taken during the Christmas event. There is usually quite a bit of laughter in the process!

Using team dynamics correctly

Some like to focus on facts, others find creative solutions, others keep the big picture in mind or connect the team as good communicators. Each member of your team has their own strengths. In the Christmas Challenge, it takes all of their talents! The team that makes the best use of them has the best chance of winning. An important insight that you can reflect on together with your team and transfer to everyday work.

The preparation
