Creative offers and entertainment for the whole team – does that work online? We say: yes! And also, we’ll make an additional claim: especially when a team is growing into the digital era, or has discovered remote work or home office for themselves, it is even more important that team building works online – or includes at least some virtual parts. At a virtual team event, colleagues experience playing together and communicating in a completely different way, in comparison to standing in front of each other. This is worth reflecting on.
We have reinvented many of our team building classics such as Adventure Everest or Beat the Hacker into online team events. It is all about solidarity, productivity and trills. Despite – or because of – the physical distance, you feel up close who brings which strengths to the team. Discover virtual team events now!
BITOU offers around 20 different virtual team events. Your choice depends on the challenges that your team is confronting in everyday working life: building trust, solving problems better or making decisions more efficiently, communication and planning – these aspects can be worked on well in online team building.
Contrary to offline team events, even more deliberate communication, presentation and a structured set up is additionally needed so that a good atmosphere and closeness can arise. Furthermore, good documentation is also important, as textual information is also exchanged. Good virtual team events also work with short video sequences.
An online team event should be no longer than 120 minutes at a time – any more is tiring. However, through the online variant, it is also possible to stretch the team building event over a longer period of time and have them take place in small units. An example of this is our communications team event Mission to Mars: it consists of four units which can be played through the course of a week. The longer the time span, the more the amount of reflection increases, and the more this helps teams to transfer their knowledge to everyday life.
